It’s Time For Halloween!

We interrupt the road trip posts to bring you a look at the home all decorated for Halloween! To be perfectly honest, this year was the hardest yet. While I love Halloween, it is impossible to separate the holiday from death, and I am still reeling from the loss of my mom. I also left the Anaheim Fall Festival, which was a very difficult, but necessary choice. However I am looking forward to attending the event without the madness of having to help organize it.

As a result of my mom’s passing, I did inherit a few Halloween decorations, mostly Peanuts pieces, and they added a bit more warmth and whimsy rather than spooky and scary. Other new additions include two new spirit boards, an early 20th century writing planchette, and a vintage pop-up haunted house by Hallmark, which has been a holy grail l item of mine for sometime. If you’re new to my little corner of the internet, and have some hesitancy towards spirit boards, then I recommend checking out my History of the Ouija Board post.

Another victim of being so busy and a bit depressed, is I will not be doing my annual sampling of my Halloween playlist. But if you’re new here, you can check out previous posts to hopefully add some fresh tunes to really get into the spirit of the season.

Sadly all three of the kitties were camera shy as we photographed over the weekend. Oh well! Can’t win them all. Are you decorated for Halloween? If you haven’t and are looking for tips on how to decorate using vintage Halloween decorations without damaging them, check out this blog post!
